NIIF occupies a unique position: it is a private enterprise, with the Government of India as its largest investor, its other investors are global, yet the projects it funds are all Indian. Hence a unique challenge and an opportunity presented itself with this project: to present an extremely progressive version of the India investment story to the world at large.
NIIF approached Lucid to elevate its web presence into something world-class, while remaining distinctly Indian. From structuring the narrative to understanding the diverse audiences who would engage with the site, we drew on our wide-ranging experience and up-to-date capabilities to create a paradigm-shifting website in a sector that is typically conservative, complex and information dense.
Communicating the details of NIIF’s investment strategies, the teams driving each strategy, and the entities and opportunities those funds ultimately support required careful structuring and organization of the information flow. In addition, the site needed to showcase the enterprise’s history, its investment journey—including an interactive map—and its work in sustainability and CSR initiatives. Thoughtful information architecture was therefore a key focus for us.
The site also needed to serve a diverse set of audiences: from international investors such as a pension fund based out of the US, to Indian government officials, to infrastructure ventures seeking funding, to individuals applying to join the investment team. Given this range, developing a robust and intuitive graphic system was critical, enabling complex ideas to be communicated clearly, visually, and intuitively.
Ultimately, the design successfully met all these objectives, enabling NIIF to accurately present itself as the true industry leader it is.
